Over 20 years experience covering the prospect world of hockey. I follow the USHL, the NCAA, the three Canadian Major Junior leagues and some Junior. For self torture I follow the New York Rangers, Mets, Jets, and Giants
Peoplle keep asking what should they do if TRump and GOP refuse to seat a Democratic majority. All I know is that once upon a time I swore an oath to defend the Consitution and if that is what it takes

I didn't watch the rookie games because winning or losing did not matter. The games introduced the players to the Ranger's system. WIth as much youth coming into the system change will come slow but for most it will come.
Just be patient please

Ok so you didn't ask me but guys who can really help themselves at the rookie camp:
Brody Lamb -on an AHL deal but is the best pure sniper on the roster.
Artem Gonchar- might just be the best playmaker among the defensemen.
Nathan Aspinal- will establish himself as the top NYR prospect

Ok play time is over, Ranger rookies report this week so time to start writing again. Only for a change I am no longer working alone.
I work with some really talented guys at Foreverblueshirts.com and we cover every angle of the Ranger franchise from rookies to veterans.

My job is to always look towards the NYR future and sometimes that means I get to say things that most people won't like. Like this one:
NYR have left themselves little room to allow for the development of any of their young players this year. It makes me question their confidence in their youth

If I was the Democrats, I would be acting as if I was losing not leading in any polls.
This independent does not want to vote GOP but I won't just give anyone my vote.
Earn it or I will not vote.
I am so sick of voting for the lesser of two evils

While I was no fan of Dolly Parton, I am saddened by the fact that it took her passing away to all the partisan bickering for a while.
Man it is nice and quiet here.
RIP Dolly and thank you for your parting gift

The GW arrived in the ME yesterday which freed up the Lincoln to come home. No aircraft carrier just magically shows up anywhere, they needed to be sent where they are needed first. Just dumb
August 21, 2026 at 8:30 AM
I dislike Trump and his criminals but I like those "experts" who are thinking they are why the Lincoln coming home even less. They are sending the wrong message to the families whose troops are on long deployments that they can force the government to bring them home sooner.

2026 third round pick goalie Danai Shaiikov will be the first Rangers prospect to report to his training camp. Shaiikov will report this weekend to the Gatineau Olympiques (QMJHL). He will report to the Rangers rookie training camp around 9/9

Guess my summer is now over, lets get to work

As Howie Rose prepares to retire, I realize just how lucky I was to have listened to Rose, Sam Rosen, JD, Marv Albert, Kenny Albert, Bill Chadwick, Jim Gordon, Spencer Ross, Bob Murphy, Lindsey Nelson, and Marty Glickman call my teams
August 12, 2026 at 9:48 PM
I wonder when it is going to be OK for someone to speak up and say just how flawed the Rangers franchise truly is? Yes Mika and JT are below average centers, there is no secondary scoring and really only the top four defensemen are sound. Even Igor and his backup come with serious warts
August 4, 2026 at 7:37 AM
When your team was the worst in the Eastern Conference and 3rd worst in the NHL then improvement is not hard.

But sorry if you are expecting the Rangers to be good this year then boy are you going to be disappointed.

It is never how much money you spend, it is how well you spend it.

Fire Drury

If I was looking for a new place to write about New York Rangers prospects where would I go?

Just looking to see what is out there
July 27, 2026 at 1:27 AM
Why is it that the former NYR players who were quality guys are working for other NHL teams and not the Rangers?
July 22, 2026 at 8:41 AM
I really hate to say this but man this site is super depressing today. Politicians are corrupt. Nothing new. Mitch McConnell has disappeared again and they don't do nothing about it. Not to mention the war war that a yellow street coward is fighting is just wasting ammunism and accomplishing nothing
July 22, 2026 at 1:33 AM
And after Schneider the Rangers have just 2.4 mil in open cap space if they carry 23 players
July 13, 2026 at 10:17 PM
Robertson proved he can play in the NHL. He has a good cap number so Drury needs to try to move him for a draft pick not another minor league player
July 13, 2026 at 10:14 PM
Fortescue is screwed because of the Gavrikov and Pettersson contracts Sending him to Hartford is a waste as would be keeping him as the 7th dman. And Robertson is blocked by both and no way he passes waivers
July 13, 2026 at 10:10 PM
More Rangers D
If I am running the Rangers then I give Smits 9 games to show he is NHL ready. If not then Fortescue
But What to do with Fortescue if he too is ready? He won't be happy in Hartford and has already burnt a year of his contract.
July 13, 2026 at 10:05 PM
Rangers defense

Gavrikov/Fox
Pettersson/Durzi
Smits or Fortescue or Robertson/Schneider

Everyone else is headed eslewhere
July 13, 2026 at 9:59 PM
Doubt Schneider lasts the season as he is trade bait with his low cap number
The #hashtag signed 24 y/o D Braden Schneider to a one year $5.5M cap hit contract

Deal is all salary

Upon expiry Schneider will be RFA with a $5.5M QO and 1 year from UFA

FYI Braden Schneider arbitration hearing is set for July 29th.

Arbitration hearings can turn nasty at times as GMs will trash players to win their case
