While researching this, I actually just found out that Gromit Unleashed will be happening again in 2025!
I hope that I can travel home to visit friends and have the opportunity to see this again - it was such an amazing experience and was so special to share with my family.

One of my personal favorite Gromit's on display back in 2013 was this Gromit based off of King Tut.
This Gromit was placed on display in the Bristol History Museum, which holds a special place in my heart as I went there a lot growing up.

Here is one aspect that stood out to me in particular. I loved the immersiveness of having the desk, chalk board, and lockers present. And it was so nice to have the opportunity to look through someone else's sketchbook and see how their artistic works and style develops.

Another aspect of Nghe's installation that stood out to me was these Sanrio and Sumikko Gurahsi plushes. They are from a Japanese brand and play a heavy influence in Japan's kawaii culture.

An musician who's art reminds me a lot of this Yamikawaii style is Melanie Martinez. A lot of her past work often emulated these dark and cute styles with deeper meanings.

Here is another example of kawaii culture in Japan. This version of kawaii culture may align more closely with, Yamikawaii, roughly meaning "dark and sickly cute". These styles are typically a but more edgier but still cute in a sense - like what is seen on these t-shirts from Nghe's installation.

An example of this can be when you see the graduation cords on the side table next to the main desk. I'm also about to graduate this spring, so this touch element out to me in particular and resonated with me. I can't believe that we're about to graduate! :)

Another aspect of this piece that I liked was the stage and the immersion you felt. Immersion is a vital aspect of video games, so including that in the artistic sense and creating a space that your audience can immerse themselves within is genius. What a neat idea!

Speaking of video games, here is a recent piece that stood out to me when our class visited the Davis gallery. Immersive art really stands out to me and it one of my personal favorite ways to experience art. So the fact that I was able to sit down and play through a portion of this game was great!

I was recently reminded of the art deco style and of Bioshock when visiting the Shaw's Crab House in Chicago. Here is a picture and it was so cool to see! I have never seen this style so closely before and the signs, letterings, and decor felt right out the game.
