Currently reading A Flower Traveled in my Blood by Haley Cohen Gilliland about Los Desaparecidos in Argentina, which I’m finding incredibly relevant today. 5 ⭐️

Thought I got a reasonable deal on ice cream only to realize that it was 1.5 quart (0.375 gallons) instead of the standard 1/2 gallon.

Cans of diced tomatoes were $.10 higher but the size shrank from 12 oz to 10 oz cans.

French bread loaf went from $1.00 to $1.25.

Watch for shrinkflation.

Now is a great time to try out microgreens. I just broke out my kit that I haven’t used since the winter.

Also, here’s some arugula from my garden (super easy to grow!)

Tonight at least the raccoon came at more of a reasonable hour—but brought along three cuter copies. They have mistaken my hummingbird feeders for Kool-aid dispensers. This one got left behind.

Also, leaving this here with all the info to the right. Who’s the real 🐐? Mbappé > Messi
Don’t even bother coming at me. 🤣

Feeling good about this. Mbappé takes the lead for the Golden Boot at the end of the 3rd place match.

For those who continue to slander Texans and discount ALL of us because we live in a voter-suppressed, gerrymandered red for 30 years state:
4.8 MILLION Texans voted for Kamala Harris for President in 2024. May I present “states with population < 4.8 million”:

Anyone look over their old posts and see LOTS of old content labeled as SPAM by moderation? I haven't been here for a minute and just noticed that half my old posts are labeled as spam by moderation, including a post about BREAD. What?!

Contact both of your Senators and your Representative NOW calling for their support for Articles of Impeachment.
Call their DC & local offices and leave a message at both. Here’s a script if you want:

People in San Antonio keep talking about anti-ICE protestors being violent or damaging property (of which there are no reports) and calling them rioters, all while this guy is clearly brandishing on what is likely federal property (Alamo). @nps.gov.

Southwest trying to brand these changes as something great is the equivalent to handing out shit sandwiches with a smile. No one asked for this. Time to switch credit cards and to start shopping around for flights since there’s no reason to stay brand loyal to Southwest now. #NoLuv

Don’t give the Liar in Chief any of your viewing time. There will be plenty of lowlights to watch later. What are you watching tonight? I’ll be tuning in to Pete later.

Got my Chi-mini-nea set up on temporary blocks to enjoy a chilly Texas morning. Looking forward to getting a more permanent set up. Afternoon discard bread while chili simmers.

Last night I made way too many sourdough discard pretzels on the first run before I could problem shoot. Also, I neglected to make a beer cheese dip. However, I can confirm the recipe was forgiving and they made for delicious breakfast sandwiches.

CALL YOUR SENATORS & REPRESENTATIVES! Call both their DC and local offices. Call back until you get someone on the line—for some, the lines are busy and you may have to call back to get through. Be specific and stick to one or two topics per day. Jot down some notes or use a script if you need to.

A friend of mine who works for a private university shared this this morning. This is not what a free society looks like.

Used this morning to #procrastibake and get my head on straight. Shaped cinna rolls, put some more in the freezer, & prepped two loaves to go in the fridge for a day or more. Time to read about epidemiology and pretend like our health care infrastructure isn’t at risk.
