In a historic first, Caltrans has returned 55 hectares (136 acres) of coastal land to three Coastal Yuki tribes in Northern California.

Requested in 2005 after looters disturbed ancestral sites, the land will be used for education and cultural gatherings while remaining public.

It is very much not a good thing that this was the key take-away from the UNEP's latest report.

It's a nice illustration of the effect that carbon removal has on media. The promise of fixing a threat without changing the status quo is just the exact fantasy being sought out

After Brand New Day, the current state of the superhero genre is utterly bleak with such an asinine focus on "hype and aura moments" rather than creativity. People will scoff at this, but swings like this is what we really need right now.
The People Vs Gorilla Grodd, the new show from DC Studios, is coming to HBO Max. Our first foray into the true crime genre.

Groceries. Water. Health insurance. Even rent.

Climate change is starting to show up in all of these bills.

Happy summer solstice to all who celebrate. This is the official start of the astronomical summer in the northern hemisphere, and almost when the Earth is its furthest point from the Sun by ~5 million km (3.1 million miles). That’s in about two weeks.

I'm not surprised that Disclosure Day is divisive. It's a film that asks you to confront your perception of the world. It strategically holds back sweeping revelations, opting for profound questions instead. In a world full of cynicism, it embraces an optimism that begs for the truth. It's good!

My prediction is that we will never have enough CO₂ removal (CDR), so overshoot is not a thing. We will hit 1.5°C global warming by 2030, and every tonne of CO₂ we emit will make the world warmer. Where we stop is entirely up to us, but there’s no dialing down the temperature after that.
