I remember GWB championing an "ownership society" at the beginning of his second term. Loose credit was one of the ways to promote that policy, which we all know led to a global economic meltdown in 2008.
Between this and the Iran war, it's amazing how much we've forgotten in 20 years.

I think Matt desperately needs Rubio to be a reset button for his preferred style of conservatism. But those days are over. There is no reset.

Loving the dealership analogy, but I’ll take it a step further. Howard is the aggressive salesman, giving away too much to make the sale. Marco is the finance manager who knows he’ll be fired if he approves the sale.
