I’ll be spending the next month in Nepal at the Khumbu Climbing Center teaching first aid to guides and other high altitude workers. Day 1 in Nepal was spent exploring Kathmandu seeing stupa and monkeys and eating MoMo. Next up we had to Lukla and start the trip to the KCC

💙 Pres. Carter’s biggest legacy IMO was passage of ANILCA. ANILCA set aside over 100 million acres of land in Alaska for national parks, national wildlife refuges, national monuments, national wild & scenic river designations, & more. Plus he was a man of high integrity. I remember him with respect.

Delayed and intermittent CPR for severe accidental hypothermia
Cardiac arrest (CA) in patients with severe accidental hypothermia (core temperature <28°C) differs from CA in normothermic patients. Maintaining CPR throughout the prehospital period may be impossible, particularly during difficult evacuations. We have developed guidelines for rescuers who are evacuating and treating severely hypothermic CA patients.
