Searching for a nicer place where the kind people reside.

Stuffies and PWEI are Stourbridge. Plenty of actual Bham music though - Duran Duran, Editors, UB40, Big Special (Walsall but met at Bham college I think). Others will add more.

Reminds me of when then Tory Lee Anderson door knocked a 'random voter' for the TV cameras. He'd left his mike on fifteen mins earlier in the car park when phoning the voter to 'pretend you don't know me'.

Indeed. My parents live in Derbyshire so it's a parochial derby of sorts

As a Cov fan, if Tat Sakamoto can't seem to break into the 🇯🇵 squad they must have some players. You may be onto something.

There is a tide in the affairs of me
That taken at the flood lead on to fortune
Omitted all the voyages of their lives
Are bound in shallows and miseries

Bizarrely he once conducted the QF draw for the Rumbelows Cup on Saint and Greavesie I think. To be a million times worse than that takes some doing..

I'm no expert either. Just aware that the ruling party in Tanzania has never 'lost' an election since independence. Which is quite an impressive feat. Think elections this month also went the 'expected' way.

Having spent some time there, I think many consider Tanzania has always been a one-party state, notional elections notwithstanding.

BBC Radio then had Kelvin MacKenzie justifying the decision. This from the guy that sanctioned 'Hillsborough The Truth'...

I know you're not a football fan but when I was a kid, the FA Cup (when it was good) got me through winter. 3rd Round, 3rd Round replays, 4th round draw, games postponed in snow and replayed. It was March before you knew it.

Brill. Lily often reminded me of the brilliant cutting lyrics and melodies of Kirsty MacColl. There will of course never be another but Lily is great in her own right.

BBC reporting this as Jess Phillips 'admitted' - implication being it's her error as opposed to an attempt to improve the inherited situation.

Russia aren't competing as far as I know but wouldn't put it past FIFA/Trump to find a unpalatable workaround.

Reminded me of Ched Evans case. His supporters may or may not have had a point about whether or not the threshold for crime was committed on the evidence but equally, on the uncontested evidence, his behaviour was that of a horrible, horrible person. Ditto Connelly.

Some days though - and today is one of them - you are better off in a work meeting and oblivious than you are knowing the Bears score ..

Was hoping you were describing Bazball after the opening sentence.

Well the stairs would have been hard work I guess

The three kicks scored - Russo/Kelly & Bronze were as good as any you'll see in a shoot out - but yes, out of context to the rest.

Given time wasting can be batters or bowlers sanctions hard to police. Simplest solution would be 30 overs per session and time taken away from lunch/tea intervals. Second session to start at 1.40pm regardless..

Enjoyable day at Hove. Really good attendance and always one nerdy spectator (me), happy to document it all..
