I like how starting a writing timer opens the door to the discovery of characters, themes, and conflicts. No more, no less. After 2 sessions, more was revealed.

I finished Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson! I found it very enjoyable. Started on a Kindle on a flight to Barcelona, lost the device switching planes in Lisbon. Continued on my phone. Returned home and finished on Kobo. I am still thinking about the characters and the narrative style.

Good first day, tracking writing sessions is a real motivator for me. Planning is never 100% active, I noticed I am 75% active: checking notes offline, fetching something from browser, and just pausing to consider what's next.

Writing is over 95%. That's the benefit of planning.
Today: 1031 words.

Starting with the 15 beats from Save the Cat! Hydrate at least the first scene. Just about an hour outlining before writing the first 500+ words in another 30 minutes.

Next, is another outlining session to set up the next scene for tomorrow.

Today I start a new manuscript. October is my favorite month to write. So it follows that September will be a planning and outlining month.
