I really like the Brian Anderson/Jeff Francoeur team on TBS and agree with them completely - the umps got the fan interference call exactly right.

Ok so at this point, anyone except LA would be cool with me.

- Loaded the bases but only gave up one run? Check
- Equal parts unhittable and unwatchable? Check
- Fans of both teams came out of it upset? Check
- Inning felt like it took 45 minutes? Brother, you better believe that’s a check

Cade Cavalli signed a contract extension, tossed 5 scoreless innings and reached 200 strikeouts. CJ Abrams joined the 30-30 Club. And Josiah Gray pitched in an MLB game for the first time in 897 days, closing out a 9-1 win.

That's a pretty good day for the Washington Nationals.

To the gentleman in Terra Club section D, row B, seat 12. Yes, you in the Phillies cap. Why are you spending $500 for a ticket to a MIA-WSH game? #Nats

Getting out hustled and flat out dominated by the Rockies at home sure feels like rock bottom for a team that has totally lost its identity www.federalbaseball.com/washington-n...

Is it Butera? Toboni? Do I continue to blame the Lerners? This team has fallen apart.
August 27, 2026 at 12:59 AM
@markzuckerman.bsky.social please ask Butera why Beeter went back out for the 9th. What in the world
August 22, 2026 at 2:10 AM
For the love of God, why is Clayton Beeter in this game? Why did he start the 9th? Why is he still there?

Wrote about a fun one: The 2026 Nationals were trending towards being the first team in history to not give a single PA to a hitter older than 28.

Then, Miles Mikolas pinch-hit.

On a team that's still something like the youngest group ever ..

This series has been depressing. As fun as this team has been to watch there’s been so much misery (like Yankees, Phillies at home, plenty more).

I’m ok with the notion that there’s more to do before the team is a contender, even with all the positives. #Nats

CJ Abrams has homered in 3 straight games

That’s the longest such single-season streak by a Nationals player appearing at shortstop in each game since Ian Desmond also homered in three straight from July 23-25, 2015
