I would NEVER read criticism of antisemitism as a defence of Israel and Zionism because Zionism is inherently antisemitic as Theodor Herzl the founder of Zionism recognised when he argues “the antisemitic countries will be our greatest allies”. This view was shared by Edwin Montagu:
