My (fascist!) friend (an immigrant to Cyprus) is right: 41000 coming across the English Channel in small boats is WRONG.
So our Labour government is taking action on multiple fronts. ALL GOOD.
However, he wants those small boats to be stopped on the high seas. Difficult, but with goodwill, why not?

Turns out EYES WIDE SHUT (1999) is a true story. Not idle speculation or merely Kubrickian paranoia. That movie is about the catastrophic damage that happens when one merely 'brushes up against' the powerful. It's a terrible and ugly truth and we must face it collectively and courageously.
