U.S. Senate voted 47–51 on Sept. 29, 2026, to block a Democratic-led resolution from Senator Chris Van Hollen that would have required a State Dept report on human rights & violence in the West Bank.

Voted Against/To Block the Resolution: Nearly all Republican senators voted no (to block it)…
Republicans sink measure to spotlight Israeli violence in the West Bank
The overwhelming Democratic support for the resolution highlights the party’s increasing frustration with Israel’s government.

On the day Biden left office, inflation was down to 2.9%, gas was $3.12 a gallon, and diesel was $3.63.

Now inflation is 3.4%, gas $4.44 and diesel is $6.40 because of tariffs and the Iran war.

This is another great piece on the ruling.
What did we learn from the Supreme Court's three-sentence Monday night ruling leaving on hold the Trump administration's effort to interfere with mail-in voting?

Quite a lot, as it turns out—and at least some of it is good:

250. What We Learned from USPS v. California
In refusing to put the USPS mail-in ballots rule into effect, the majority didn’t say very much. I still think there are three big lessons in Monday's ruling.
