My dad was in the Royal Engineers and served 7 years throughout WW2 and beyond.
Saw action in the North Africa campaign and fought at Monte Cassino.
He believed in a peaceful post war Europe and wore that RE tie with pride. Fairly disgusted to see a Saturday soldier sport it as a gimmick #bbcqt
