My parents basically got driven out of their church (long story) in like 2009 and while it sucked and they lost a lot of friends they said one up side is it made it a lot easier to flip from being lifelong Republicans during the 2016 primaries

I remember once on twitter someone was making fun of some guy's appearance, and a person in the replies was like "oh, do we not like [guy]?" And someone else dug up some extremely bullshit reason they could put the person in the (politically) "bad" column.
