The Trials. Waiting in a stairwell with the stage manager. The theatre din. An announcement. A siren. She wrenches open the door & I plunge out into pitch blackness, a few seconds to find my place on the ledge. Spotlights. I look out into the unforgiving darkness.

De Gaulle Resistance. Brilliant film. Reminded me of recent trip to Paris & Palais Galliera (v.good). In it a blouse worn on Paris’ liberation day. Needlework resistance. Embroidered song & words of unity. What a story she could tell. Near, Place du Trocadéro, where Hitler stood 4 years earlier.
