Every human is different, we can have "healthy" levels of multiple biomarkers yet when one comes back negative the story drastically changes. As future providers we must understand each biomarker while looking at the larger picture to build a healthier community. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
BMI can tell us something about body size. It cannot tell us someone's blood pressure, blood glucose, triglycerides, or HDL cholesterol.
If we're talking about metabolic health, those are the things worth measuring.

I am a premed major. For some, diet is the difference between a few pounds and life or death. I am fascinated by the health outcomes of those living with restrictive diets. I currently believe we must focus on understanding individual metabolism and self-optimization. #HopeforPDCD
