stuff like this is why one important avenue for court reform is just nixing the shadow docket altogether and forcing these people to explain themselves to the public when they issue orders. also, making their records property of the united states and subject to publication when they leave the bench.
Amy Coney Barrett just told Congress that it would be inappropriate to explain the reasoning behind the Court’s unreasoned shadow docket orders. As if unreasoned judicial orders are a thing. They are not. The reasoning is the whole point.

Algebra is from Arabic al-jabr. But that doesn’t fit the conservative narrative.

The detainees at Guantanamo (not charged!) were allegedly fed rice pilaf and that was supposed to extrapolate into proof of humane treatment. Detention without charge and human rights abuses are not canceled out by carbs.
The American people don’t care whether Tom Homan enjoyed his lunch.
What matters is whether people who are lawfully here yet still detained by our government have access to adequate medical care, safe living conditions, and basic human dignity – and they do not at Delaney Hall.
