I learned how to write courtroom dispatches by studying good sports reporting—the play-by-play zip, the punchy verbs, etc.

But honestly, sports journalists could learn a thing or two from legal journalists, too.

Lesson for both: always read the local rules!!!
did any sports journalists even raise article 27 as a possibility before now?

every source i read after the game seemed to be like “there is no way balogun will be able to play against belgium bc FIFA rules don’t provide a way to challenge/appeal the red card”
I like how FIFA says "this is in line with Article 27 of our disciplinary code" and you expect it to be something about the specific reasons when they can undo improper VAR decisions or a review of the specific play

but its just "we can undo suspensions if we decide to undo suspensions" lmao

It’s been five years since Alex Jones lost InfoWars to the Sandy Hook families.

As the verdict came down, he asked: “Do these people actually believe they’re getting any money?” He hasn't paid them a penny.

Well, The Onion is going pay them anyway.

The new InfoWars begins July 2nd at 8 p.m. ET.
The Onion says it won’t wait for the courts, will launch Infowars to pay Sandy Hook families
The Onion’s staff is tired of waiting for the courts to settle its pending takeover of Alex Jones’ brand, so the new Infowars will launch next month.

Re the Broadview protest case:
As a defense attorney, I don’t think the media is doing a good enough job of expressing how egregiously out of line this series of events is for prosecutors. These guys play fast and loose with the law a whole fucking lot, but this is well above and beyond that. They literally broke every rule.

However they account for 57% of Republicans.

Both percentages are much lower than you would expect from the noise they make.

I have never had a doctor ask me to take a cognitive test. Why? Because they have never seen signs of cognitive decline that needed to be gauged and monitored.

Doctors have asked Donald Trump to take FOUR of these tests in the past two years. Why? Because they are VERY concerned about his decline.
