Okay, Bluesky, I've been putting this off, but it's time to dragon up.

Hi, I'm JP, and I write books, mostly speculative, very queer. Sometimes I also talk about niche sports, how I cope with my weird brain, and cats.
Unfortunately, I am getting older and my left knee is getting really squirrely.
Fortunately, it's feeling much better now!
Unfortunately, because I still had adult responsibilities, it turned into low back pain.
Fortunately, I'm old enough to have experience in fixing this kind of pain!

I am cranky because I don't have the spare time or energy in my life to soak it when my friends are running two hours late. While this is a "me" problem, my "me" solution is to hecking bail. Beloved friends experiencing delays, I love you but I cannot hang. Next time. 💖

In this glorious season of fresh garden tomatoes, do I want tacos tonight? Or bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches?
(I shall have the other one tomorrow.)

12yo: how is it 4:00 already?
Me (throwing my hands in the air): The passage of time is cruel and arbitrary, and I am not in control of it! Anywa--

I have had the kind of day where I nearly forgot to put the fresh garden tomato on my bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich.

I found a Rarity-81 word worth 94 pts in OUTLIER.
EAGLE EYES · 840 points · 10 rare words.
Only 59 players have ever found it in all of Outlier.

Discomfort is an essential part of growth and wouldn’t it be so embarrassing to be the exact same person thirty years from now, in a totally different world, because you were so averse to discomfort?

Morning people: yep, looks like the ONE nibble is now ghosting. Going to Kevin's apartment today to start cleanout & get the cats, then we're bringing them here. They HAVE to stay closed in our bedroom, so they're safe for now, but one room is NO way to live the rest of their life.

Please. SOMEONE.
FRIENDS IN THE NYC AREA: Okay, this is a tough one, but please bear with me.

My wife's lifelong friend has stage 4 pancreatic cancer and is desperately seeking a home for his two cats when that time comes. The elder, Wally, is something like 13 years old and DELIGHTFULLY dim. The younger, Doris,

Loot drop after defeating me:
- liquid chalk (10% chance chalk has solidified inside the tube)
- 1d4 servings dried fruit (cures the Hangry condition)
- a first aid kit, fully stocked
- a metal whistle
- 1d6+3 colored pens (none black)
- a battered paperback with a yellowed receipt as a bookmark
Loot drop after defeating me:

- one steel Feder
- a bag of extremely sour candy
- a notebook filled with indecipherable handwriting
- a collar that seems to be inappropriately sized for a dog
Loot drop after defeating me:

- e-ink tablet (special property: +1 to focus)
- 5-10 pieces of dehydrated beef liver dog treats
- Tea, a travel tea set, and a vacuum insulated water bottle filled with hot water
- one random item I have been looking for even though it was actually in my pocket

god.
obviously I have never had any aspirations in the tradwife direction
but I got laid off right before the pandemic and ended up at home for five years, doing care work-- first for a school-age child suddenly at home full time with child care obviously hazardous
then for a severely sick husband
This edit of a new and older trad wife is perfect

The thing that makes cover letters and interview thank-you notes so profoundly hideous to write is that you are not allowed to mention the most essential truth: that you would like a job so that you can continue to afford to live.

Capitalism is really not a very good system.
