I worked for Reuters and it was the inverse, news org created a financial information business. That is a much better model! Bloomberg replicated Reuters from the other direction and did a great job.

I respectfully disagree w/ the analysis. A news org owned by a fintech cannot have a "sustainable business model" no matter how good the journalism. News is not a good business, & trying to overcome that by using it to promote a not-very-adjacent product like a trading app is very unlikely to work.
