With > 40yrs state & local governmental audit, investigation & public finance experience, I know tax $ = OUR $. Texas govt should remember that. I can help. https://linktr.ee/janetdudding4texas
Mom always told me I could be anything when I grew up. My Mom lived that example. I have, too.

I told my daughter that “if she could dream it, she could do it, if she put in the work.” And she did.

Now the grands are putting on their “boss boots.”

Fun to have matching footwear.

Your voice. Your vote. But you can’t use it if you’re not registered.

TODAY is the last day to register to vote to be able to vote November 3rd — and early vote starts at the MSC October 19.

In Texas, it’s all paper, so come see us today. We’ll be by the MSC on campus from 7 a.m. to midnight p.m.

Everything you buy has a diesel price tag. From the groceries in your fridge to the packages on your porch, the cost of transport is skyrocketing. When energy prices spike, it's not just the pump—it's a hidden tax on every single item in the economy. & if you're leaning on credit to bridge the gap?

Abbott’s Data Center Water Crackdown Sounds Tough. It’s Got No Teeth.

The governor's tough-talking letter yesterday demanding penalties -- up to $500 for data-centers who do not fax/mail/email in their report -- IF they were asked for it.

I wrote a substack -
Abbott’s Data Center Water Crackdown Looks Tough. It’s Mostly Catch-Up.
The governor talks like he’s in command. But the numbers suggest Texas is still scrambling to figure out who’s using the water, how much they’re taking, and whether anyone is really watching.

Had a blast riding and walking in today’s Fiestas Patrias parade! I was so caught up in the fun that I didn’t take any photos during the parade — the only one I got was before it started, so including the festival poster & road closure info-all y’all head out to downtown Bryan & celebrate community!

Even Elon Musk is now talking pause on data centers, while Trump and Abbott’s pick keeps pushing the AI buildout. Follow the money: who’s really cashing in on the ai from data centers? #elon #WorldLibertyFinancial

Republicans gather in Dallas today to celebrate Trump & his 2024 promises: end inflation & make America affordable again, keep us out of wars, cut taxes for workers, and not cut Medicare. Oh, and deport the worst people.

Words are cheap. Voters judge by delivery.

Spent some time on the Texas A&M campus today drumming up support for students’ hosting a candidate forum this fall.

Great conversations, strong energy, and a lot of interest in getting involved. We moved here 20+ years ago because of A&M. This place is special.

“It’s not political, it’s just what the politicians want.”
Well now, that sure says a mouthful in College Station. If politicians are calling the shots, then you can’t dress that up as academic freedom.

First day of class at Texas A&M, and our 20th since moving to Texas after Hurricane Katrina changed the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Grateful for this community, proud of this journey, and even more committed to building a stronger future for the families of HD 14.

Janet for the planet.

Celebrating the ribbon cutting for the new Brazos County Medical Examiner’s Office with the BCS Chamber and community leaders. This important new facility will serve our county for years to come, and public tours are available August 19 & 29. Congratulations to everyone who helped make it a reality.

Greg Abbott’s August spending spree is a masterclass in blame-shifting: spend millions to point fingers, then ask Texans to buy the same old tax bait-and-switch. Property taxes have climbed roughly 4x on his watch, and now he wants to swap that pain for higher sales taxes. That’s not reform —

First day jitters, first new faces, first class, first lesson, first memories. Here’s to the excitement of all the firsts—and the teachers who make them unforgettable.

Happy 1st Day Bryan Independent School District!

It’s a proud day at Texas A&M — graduation day! My husband is ready to hood a new PhD, and it’s a joy to share in a day that honors years of hard work, learning, and family support. Congratulations to the graduate and to everyone celebrating this achievement today.

We moved here because of Texas A&M, and I’ve seen firsthand how much our public universities matter to this community. That’s why I’m standing up for academic freedom and against political interference in our classrooms. Our universities should be led by educators, not controlled by ideology.

The Brazos Valley Food Bank’s Feast of Caring was the very first community event I attended when we moved here for Texas A&M 20 years ago, and it still means a lot to me today. There’s something special about a tradition that brings people together over red beans and rice to care for our neighbors

Paul Dyson sent a “survey,” but the script is clear: fear, smear, and distractions. After 30 years of Republican control, Texas families are paying the price — higher costs, broken schools, and ethics failures. That’s why I’m running: to clean up the mess, tell the truth, and put HD14 families first

Great hearing from & visiting with College Station ISD high school Cougar Coach Pryer & Tiger Coach Schmidt the College Station Noon Lions Club meeting at the College Station Holiday Inn. In Texas House District 14, we know athletics and fine arts are essential to a strong public education.

Apparently the first order of business for Acting Comptroller Don Huffines was a Trump-gold makeover for an office he’ll occupy for barely a minute. New gold seal, his name at the bottom — because nothing says fiscal discipline like taxpayer-funded ego décor. #doge

This is today’s Republican slate: Don Huffines, Bo French culture-war politics, and Dan Patrick and Greg Abbott still doing the bidding of billionaires. And yes, that’s the owner of Zorro Ranch in the mix. Where’s the Agriculture Commissioner? Missing from the picture — just like accountability.

Big changes are hitting Texas hemp shops on July 31. Products like delta-8, delta-10, and THCA flower are being banned, while some low-level delta-9 products will still be allowed. For many small businesses, this could mean empty shelves, lost revenue, and major uncertainty overnight.

Yesterday, bond was set high.

Yesterday, the Republican in this race joined the Democrat to call for #JusticeForHannah.

Today is Hannah’s 27th birthday.

Today, say Hannah’s name out loud.

And then—

do something joyful,

something bright,

something full of love,

in her honor.

Brazos County FILLED the VFW Hall last night for burgers with local and statewide candidates!

Thank you Brazos County! And thank you VFW Post 4692!

And thank you all who publicized & those who saw the publicity & came out.

FUN time!

This’s one to watch.

Y’all realize that those school property taxes that are so outrageous ARE SET BY THE STATE - that’s right, appointed Mike Morath sets the rate & then says how much the state gets of that and how much your school district gets to keep.
