SONICAKE BBD Wonder – Is This Analog Delay Any Good? Analog delay pedals have a special character that digital effects don’t always replicate. Today, we’re taking a closer look at the SONICAKE BBD Wonder, an analog delay pedal designed to bring that classic delay character to your pedalboard.

A brand-new Fractal AM4 pack is here! The Inspired By John Mayer Pack was created around some of the tones and playing dynamics that have made John Mayer’s sound so recognizable — from warm, touch-sensitive cleans to smooth overdrive and expressive lead tones. Rather than trying to copy one specific rig, I wanted to capture the feel and character of those tones and turn them into something you can actually use across different songs and playing styles.

Capture the smooth, dynamic and expressive guitar tones inspired by John Mayer, built from the ground up for the Fractal Audio AM4. This preset features 3 carefully crafted Scenes, taking you from sparkling cleans to touch-sensitive breakup and a rich, sustaining lead tone. 3 Scenes included: Glassy Clean — Clear, warm and dynamic clean tone with plenty of depth and definition.

K Multimedia has released TONEX 2.1, bringing some useful new features and workflow improvements to the TONEX ecosystem. In my latest video, I take a look at what’s new in TONEX 2.1, including the changes to the TONEX Rig ecosystem, new editing possibilities and the improvements that can make a real difference when building and using your own rigs.

How many Tube Screamer-style drives are hiding inside the Fractal Audio AM4? In my latest video, I put every Tube Screamer-style drive in the Fractal AM4 to the test, comparing them through the same setup so you can hear exactly how each model changes the tone. From the familiar mid-pushed character of the classic 808-style circuits to the different variations Fractal has included, there are some surprisingly noticeable differences in gain, attack, compression and overall feel.

There’s something special about a great lead guitar tone — it needs to feel smooth, expressive and almost vocal. That’s exactly what I was going for with this new Fractal AM4 lead tone. I wanted plenty of sustain, a warm and musical response, and enough gain to make every note sing without becoming overly compressed or losing definition. The result is a tone that feels incredibly responsive under the fingers and works beautifully for melodic solos and expressive lead playing.

Something new is coming from BOSS. Today, September 25, BOSS is scheduled to reveal a new product at Guitar Summit 2026 in Mannheim, Germany, during a presentation featuring guitarist Alex Hutchings. At the time of writing, BOSS has not yet revealed exactly what the new product is — which, of course, makes things a lot more interesting! What Is BOSS About to Reveal?

Can the BOSS Katana Artist GEN 3 get close to the sound and feel of a classic Fender Twin Reverb? That’s exactly what I wanted to find out. For this video, I took my BOSS Katana Artist GEN 3 and built a tone from scratch with one very specific goal: to capture the character of a Fender Twin Reverb.

The JN Dumble Essentials Pack for Fractal AM4 is here! This pack was carefully designed to cover everything from pristine, touch-sensitive cleans to warm overdrive and rich, singing lead tones. This pack features 4 carefully crafted lead scenes, designed to cover different styles and playing dynamics — from smooth and warm solo tones to more aggressive sounds that cut through the mix. The TONEX Board is finally in the studio, and for this video I decided to do something simple: start with a completely blank preset and build my first TONEX Board preset from scratch. No pre-made setup, no shortcuts — just going through the process step by step and seeing what I could get out of the unit. Building a TONEX Board Preset From Scratch…

I’ve been thinking a lot about BOSS lately. As someone who has spent many years working with BOSS products, creating patches for the GT-1000, GX series, Katana and other platforms, one thing is very clear to me: the sound quality is still there. The GT-1000 may have been released back in 2018, but it can still sound absolutely fantastic today. The same goes for newer products in the GX family, and of course the Katana series continues to be incredibly popular with guitar players around the world.

IK Multimedia has just officially unveiled the TONEX Board, bringing the TONEX ecosystem into a much more complete and flexible hardware format. I’ve already had the opportunity to spend some time with the new Board, and my first impressions are very positive. It’s extremely straightforward to use directly from the hardware, while offering the flexibility you’d expect from the growing TONEX ecosystem.
