Let's compare where we were before Trump dragged us into the Iran War and where we are now.

SPOILER ALERT: We're not better off.

This is Trump's war of choice. He's chosen to put Americans in harm's way with no plan for what comes next.

We've been here before with Iraq, and it was a disaster. Congress must step in, immediately, to halt the military action.

Read my full op-ed in @ms.now.
Opinion | Congress must halt Trump's military action in Iran immediately
Sen. Andy Kim: Only 27% of Americans support using force against Iran. The president has chosen a “war” that could have lasting and disastrous consequences for Americans’ well-being.

It's ironic that Trump's talking about ending wars while also bringing our country to the brink of a war that the American people do not want.

What does going to war with Iran get you? Does it make you safer? Does it make it easier to pay your bills? Does it make you more optimistic about your future?

Trump is bringing our country to the brink of war with no reason, no plan, and no regard for you.

The US military is prepared to strike Iran as early as this weekend, though President Donald Trump has yet to make a final decision on whether he’ll authorize such actions, sources familiar with the matter tell CNN. https://cnn.it/4kGV8Op

The American people do not want to go to war with Iran. This is another dangerous escalation by Trump without a clear plan or consent from Congress.

A reminder to the President: you don’t get to unilaterally decide when we go to war.
Trump moves closer to a major war with Iran
There's little public debate about what could be the most consequential U.S. military action in a decade.

I’m not voting to fund this lawless violence. Trump’s abuse of power is tearing us apart. We have 3 years left of this presidency. Either we stand up and protect our democracy now, or we risk going down a path that is unthinkable, will hurt countless people and do irreversible damage to our country.

We’ve got to stand up to the mob boss in chief and fight back against his corruption and political intimidation.

Secretaries Rubio and Hegseth looked every Senator in the eye a few weeks ago and said this wasn’t about regime change. I didn’t trust them then and we see now that they blatantly lied to Congress.

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

NEW — I dug into the story of ICE abducting a 13-year-old boy in Massachusetts and moving him 500 miles across state lines without notifying his mother, local cop's complicity, and how the federal government's justification for such cruelty is already falling apart:
ICE took a 13-year-old they said had a gun. Local cops say he didn’t.
Now he's detained 500 miles away from his Massachusetts home.

So, basically, Pete wants a white, male, Christian nationalist military that is comfortable with war crimes at home and abroad (and that has high grooming standards), and if you're not OK with that, then you can resign.

Interesting to see how the Generals respond. Do they ignore it, or push back?
Hegseth: "We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement."
