Elsevier regularly comes off as one of the bulwarks of evil in the academic space.
Profit first and foremost leveraging their baked in subscription model w/all libraries, universities and research centers forced to purchase. Little consideration for access or quality. #academicsky

Perhaps the most egregiously corporate of academic publishers, #Elsevier have rammed AI into the proofing process of journals, effectively destroying their scholarly reputations. Editors are powerless to stop their beloved journals turning into prohibitively expensive dross.
