this is why we have new data centers popping up like weeds. Storing this data takes a lot of space, the more people they track, the worse it gets.

We need to speak louder and more frequently. Black people were chattel enslaved for centuries and this is the future the wealthy want for all of us. Now is the time to fight back

10/ Watch the contracts, not the press releases. Share this thread with someone who still thinks this stops at the border. The architecture is built. The question now is whether enough people see it before it becomes permanent.

8/ Every surveillance system in history follows the same pattern. The capacity built to target the least popular group becomes the capacity available against everyone. The dragnet does not check your politics or your citizenship before it scans you.

6/ Think your city's facial recognition ban protects you? Police already have the workaround. New AI tracks people by body shape, gait, and clothing instead of faces. The local law says faces. The tech already moved past that. Your ban has a hole in it.

5/ Now the same tools are pointed at dissent. A class action lawsuit says DHS used facial recognition to identify people who were simply watching and filming immigration operations. Standing on a public sidewalk was enough to get your face logged.

4/ Next they made it invisible. DHS asked Congress for $7.5 million to buy covert biometric smart glasses. Officers could identify you in real time, in public, without you ever knowing you were scanned. Senators are pushing back. The request still exists.

3/ Then ICE added the sensors. A $25 million no-bid contract for iris scanners, the largest biometric expansion in the agency's history. No competitive bidding. No public debate. And iris data is permanent. You cannot reset your eyes like a password.
