That transaction only really gets properly represented on the margin balance sheet, not as much actual bank account cash flow.

While we can't really know for sure, it seems pretty likely that a large organization like Xbox's balance sheet is going to largely consist of their own operational cost and operational revenue. In fact, it's meant to bring that number closer to reality.

You can easily imagine the meeting of two team leaders hashing it out:

"Alright, but if we commit to helping you with this project, you have to mark us down as accountable for 5% of the revenue you make on this"

Think of Activision's Call of Duty being sold on Blizzard's battlenet.
