Hello! I sometimes paint and draw things.

This painting had me falling in love with Daniel Smith's Amethyst Genuine purple watercolor paint. The slight sparkle in the paint is beautiful!

Building, trees, and bushes surrounded by water and silhouetted by a sunset.

A friend of mine was talking about Odin's ravens, Huginn and Muninn, and so this happened. I used Dr. Ph. Martin's black star India ink on Sennelier cold pressed paper.

Two ravens are in the foreground. In the background, stylized tree limbs, wisps of smoke, and a moon are visible.

This was an experiment. I was trying out watercolor pencils with ink, and I found them a bit frustrating. I need to work with them more.

A small watercolor painting with some ink of a twisting, ancient tree.

#art #artgallary #artist #artistonbluesky #fantasyartist #ink #inkart #originalart #traditionalart #watercolor
This is an ink and watercolor painting of an ancient, leafless tree. The wood is a whitish grey with areas of blue and purple. It's rooted into rocky ground with a few patches of green grass, and the sky is a hazy light blue.

I picked up Derwent Watersoluble Sketching Pencils and a new sketchbook a little while ago. This was my first time using them. There was a bit of a learning curve for me to get over, but it was fun!

This is a graphite and gouache drawing/painting of a stylized moon and clouds.

I enjoy painting trees, so here's another one.
- Ink and watercolor on cold-pressed paper

This is an ink and watercolor painting of a tree inspired by the balete trees in the Philippines. The long aerial roots of the tree anchor it to the rocks on the lower left corner, and a gold shimmer has been added to the green leaves to help reveal the mysterious character of the tree. This is a zoomed-in view of the ink and watercolor tree painting. It is at an angle so the shimmer of the gold paint can be viewed.

Hey, happy Trans day of visibility from me and from Prism! I hope you walk with light and protection today! 💙💗🤍💗💙🌈
A chibi drawing of a pink haired, three winged angel holding a sword. She wears a stained glass outfit in blue, pink, and white. Behind her is a stained glass motif that says "YOU MUST SURVIVE" in the background.

A square image divided into 9. There's a selfie of me in the middle, I'm stood in front of a poster. The 8 squares around me are different illustrations I drew in 2024. An illustration of my eladrin elf oath-of-the-crown paladin Alder. He has light green skin, and wears a laurel wreath. He has a distinguished moustache and goatee. He has pale green top surgery scars and looks down. An illustration based on the painting called The Conversion of the Duke of Gandía by José Moreno Carbonero. It depicts two knights: one green skinned and haired, wearing a dark blue cloak embellished with gold details. The other is wearing a silvered suit of armour with golden patterns, detailed with stair motifs. The green knight holds the armoured knight close to him, his head resting on the other's shoulder. The armoured knight looks down with a stoic look.

A small fairy. This one was fun to create.

#art #artgallary #artist #artistonbluesky #ink #inkart #originalart #traditionalart
An ink drawing, with washes of greys, of a fairy. The otherworldly Fae has a neutral expression as they look directly at the viewer. The wings are feathery, and they have the pattern of dragonfly wings.

Yesterday I had someone ask about finding good artists (who don't use AI) to design book covers. Since I make my own, I didn't have a good answer. So...

Cover artists: Post below to help authors find you.

Authors: Have a great cover artist? Shout them out!

Everyone else: repost and boost.

I think Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay blue is a really pretty color, and it's what I used to make this eye. I wonder if the other India ink colors are as wonderful and vibrant.

I painted this watercolor a while ago. Creating the stylized wispy smoke was a bit like meditation, and I had gotten lost in it.

The person who I made this painting for, Emma, titled the painting "Imago". It is named "...after the final stage of an insect's (such as a butterfly's) life cycle after metamorphosis."

It's been so grey and cold and rainy here lately. I would love for it to snow - soft, sun-reflecting fluffiness. This watercolor and ink painting feels appropriate for today.

Living in society can be chaotic, stressful, and maddening at times. I might prefer to live on the fringes, in an ancient mossy dark forest, like a feared elder fae instead. Life goals 🌿
