The advice "Don't make your first project a overambitious sprawling epic" is good. The problem is that I don't think people can really learn that lesson before they ignore the advice and just do it anyways. Sometimes you have to throw the baby into the pool to teach it how to swim.

I worry about how harshly self deprecating transfem webcomics are sometimes
Like I get for some it helps them cope and they can be relatable cuz the trans experience isn’t exactly a picnic but it feels like they’re spreading a defeatist doomer mindset around at a time when optimism is already scarce
