If you don't support open borders, you don't love America. If you don't love America, you're on the side of the fascists.
What specific crimes did they commit? A lot of stuff they did probably should have been crimes, but I'm really not sure they did anything that actually was a crime at the time they did it.

I can fit my bicycle inside on trips instead of having it on a rack outside where it can get stolen/run into/damaged, it's literally the perfect vehicle for my lifestyle.

I can take it on road trips and park somewhere safe and sleep comfortably in the back, I have enough interior space that in grad school and early in my career I was able to do multiple cross-country moves without needing anything else to transport my belongings.

My first vehicle in high school was a minivan that my parents gave to me when they replaced it with a newer model and since then I've never had any desire to drive anything else: I'm rather tall so it's good from that aspect, and I get excellent sightlines and gas mileage.

That famously monolithic religion, Christianity.

Episcopalians don't really do megachurches so something had to fill the void.

I won't claim to be a Brazil Politics Understander, so could someone explain to me why everyone's acting like the outcome of the runoff is a foregone conclusion when Lula + two center/center-left parties > 50% in the first round?

This is exactly correct--hydraulic (and pneumatic) logic is a well-developed field, a network of AND and OR and XOR and NOT gates is a network of AND and OR and XOR and NOT gates regardless of the medium.

I also notice a big delta between people who have had these sorts of jobs at some point and those who have not

The psychologically-easiest way to resolve that tension and maintain those cherished ideological commitments is to deny that machines not only are not now but categorically cannot ever be capable of anything approaching human cognition, contrary evidence be damned.

But once we became capable of creating ex nihilo machines that can reproduce a lot of our formerly-unique cognitive capabilities, to many people the latter belief became harder to do without invoking something that sounds a lot like "soul."

I also think there's an intersecting ideological component to vis-a-vis a simultaneous commitment to secularism and that humans are sui generis. For centuries it's been very easy to maintain those beliefs side by side.

Why does this look vaguely like an outline of Britain?

"Rusting Province" is an unfortunately accurate name for Wisconsin.

In a not-insignificant number of cases, people *are* able to work full-time on their passion projects because they are able to fund their work on that project by selling access to that project. Ending copyright would undermine the coincidence of interests that makes this possible.
