Since we're not at ACen this year, I might as well have my own ACen at home.

"What did you do with all that time off at the end of the year?"
"Very important things."
The LEGO "Tranquil Garden" set in progress. A Japanese tea house structure in two pieces. The LEGO "Tranquil Garden" set in progress. I own a few original animation cels from Crest of the Stars / Seikai no Monshou. I consider the show my first anime, because everything I'd seen before then - Pokemon, Dragon Ball, etc. - was indistinguishable from early morning/after school/SatAM cartoons to younger me. CotS I knew was different.
2 animation cels and their line art, showing the character Lafiel from Crest of the Stars, framed in a 2 by 2 grid arrangement. The cels are hand-painted art that was used to produce the animated series. Lafiel has blue hair and pointed, elf-like ears, and is smiling in both images.

Absolutely fantastic weekend, as always. #CVG2025
A badge for CONvergence, a general sci-fi, fantasy, and all things nerdy convention in Minneapolis. Attached to the badge are several columns of collectible badge ribbons.

A tweet which reads "what was your biggest ship loss? like, the ship you cared about the most that ended badly?" in reference to character ships within fandom. It is, in turn, quote retweeted with "probably the Edmund Fitzgerald."

Too tired to stay up until totality, so I'll take what I can get.
A photo of the lunar eclipse about 30 minutes before totality. The top of the moon is a bright, yellow-white, changing to orange and into red moving towards the bottom. The lunar eclipse about 30 minutes before totality, with a few scattered stars as a backdrop.

I have certainly woken up to far shittier views than the one I had this morning.
A view of the mountains and hills of Flåm, Norway. The sky is a light, pale blue. The hills are sparsely snow-covered in the distance. In the foreground, wintered trees stand beside an empty beer garden patio. The sun is shining half way down the hills, with the foreground still in the cool shade of the morning.

Sure, my flight was cancelled, split in two, delayed, delayed again, and I ended up spending twice as long in a plane and got in 9 hours later than planned, but I did get to see the best electrical sockets in the world during the extra layover. :D
A type K electrical socket, used in Denmark. The position and shape of the receptacles creates the appearance of a smiling face, reminiscent of the emoticon ":D"

In an attempt to actually start using this account, here are some shitty phone photos I took in the beforetimes.
Panoramic view from Hamamatsucho Station in Tokyo. The sun shines down on a number of towering office buildings and a pedestrian walkway. Panoramic photo of the snow-covered grounds of an apple orchard in Hirosaki, Japan. A mountain, partially obscured by low clouds in the sky, is visible in the distance. Panoramic photo of Sendai, Japan, as seen from the grounds of Aoba Castle. Photo of the Unicorn Gundam statue in Odaiba, Tokyo after dark. The statue glows red from several of its articulated parts.
