The USA is a place with no healthcare, but 1000 billionaires.

At least 49 of those billionaires made all their money from Private Healthcare.

Perhaps you can connect the dots.

Demography! The Mata roundtable was such a good, intelligent watch too, nice to see a panel that isn’t constantly struggling with partisan grandstanding
I think the Mata poll showing a surge in support for the Greens among Māori voters signals a structural shift as millennials/Gen X Māori rapidly outnumber the older population. This shift was emerging 10 years ago, and for the foreseeable Labour/Greens/and TPM will roughly share support in thirds

Here we go again. On the left and on the right the unaffordable pension nonsense is hitting the news again. RNZ happy to both sides transphobia and a genocide but straight up one eyed one sided on NZ Pensions. #nzpol
Looks like a good time in the news cycle to tackle three big myths 🧵
❌ NZ pension costs are an unsustainable burden ❌
Seriously, no, for lots of reasons.
1. Our current Govt spending on pensions is low compared to most other advanced economies. And... [1/n]

Nick Mowbray's only contribution to the NZ economy is donations to the ACT party. His shit plastic toys waste & corrupt children's brains, and his political loyalties are with a party that protects paedophile presidents and feeds children slop for lunch and AI slop for lessons. It all fits.

I can’t speak for NZ’s electoral history, but can authoritatively say that nothing like what I'm studying at present around the far-right's influence operations, coordinated messaging, & related funding (propped by billionaires) was this evident in the lead up to the 2023 general election. #nzpol

'Piggy bank is empty' nonsense provides cover for the political class. Once the lie is exposed, they have to answer questions like 'If we have 100,000s of people wanting work, and plenty of raw materials, why is our infrastructure falling to bits? Sounds like mismanagement, ay? (It is!)
The problem is that NZ issues NZ dollars. That doesn’t abolish scarcity. Nurses, electricity, houses, labour and productive capacity are all genuinely finite. But “the money” is not scarce in the same way. Which makes the household metaphor rather important politically.
