They dwell inside mountains in their own realms, where they hoard gold and gemstones.
If they are exposed to sunlight they turn into rock, and according to legend, many mountains in Norway are former trolls.

I love warm summer nights. There's something magical about seeing fireflies appear as the last light fades from the sky. I wanted to capture a bit of that in this painting. I don't paint many night scenes, so this was a fun challenge. I hope you enjoy.
