If a research paper can't answer the "so what?" test, then it doesn't deserve reviewing let alone publishing - and I don't think AI used as a writing assistant is helping authors address that test. /end

I don’t get what the endgame is: is it about flooding the zone with trash? Doing reputational damage to a researcher, to the humanities and social science? Proving that models outputs pass double blind peer reviews? Decredibilizing critical AI discourse?

After a year, I threatened to take my paper somewhere else and that was when they told me to resubmit it on the new Springer platform. Probably less because of the threat than because of the platform switch. So yeah, I do not recommend.

They switched their review platform recently and since then it may have gotten better. But before that, they were simply unresponsive. I wrote 5-6 times to ask when the reviews were due and they didn't respond.
