you'll have way more luck using cardboard + mulch than you will using that godawful weed barrier/landscaping fabric. cardboard suppresses weed seeds, then decomposes into organic matter, which feeds the plants you actually want there. soil is alive and landscaping fabric kills it.

Hearing on good authority that Police Chief Shon Barnes has just been fired. He just left the mayor's office this evening after being inside for quite a while. Barnes is currently calling around the police department to tell his captains. Still waiting on confirmation from mayor's office and SPD.

this is about seattle’s police chief (check out the thread) and as a taxpayer here, wow does this piss me the fuck off. defund the police. they don’t keep us safe, we do. this is unbelievable
Barnes makes around $370,000 a year. He has repeatedly been out of town, at events in other cities or at his family home in Chicago, during emergencies like today’s mass shootimg.

i've been so severely depressed i was at risk of suicide and under safety plans several separate times. i still had to run meetings and send emails and do spreadsheets every day or i'd have been homeless. must have been nice tom! glad you're back to take away our care. i fucking hate these people

this helped me finally manage to articulate how i feel every time i watch my fellow whites do land acknowledgements and nothing else: “we are so committed to fairness that we have lost sight of the unfairness of doing nothing”
