Well, they refuse to take popular economic position so trying to court Republicans who will call them communists and vote for the actual Republican anyways is the only strategy they have!

Dems doing what they do best, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
September 17, 2026 at 7:18 PM
That might be true this cycle, but it's still crazy, never thought I'd see NC swing to dems like that.
September 17, 2026 at 6:27 PM
NC safe D seems crazy.

Even when the leaders are very much religious, that has rarely in history been more than justification and a way to rally support. The decisions are almost always made as geopolitical calculations in terms of what can be gained, but man are some people bad at math.

Sun fact, the US taxes you as long as you hold citizenship.

I like how even in the dream scenario Florida is still a lost cause.

(This is correct but the real dream is the narrative shattering nuke of a DSA win in Florida.)

I think people just don't internalize how much gas prices were kept "flat" relative to inflation because of the push under Obama to reduce foreign energy reliance. Rightly criticized for it not being a bigger focus on renewables, but yeah. And tariffs won't crash the economy, just cause stagflation.

It's where all the allfuent boomers go to retire and attracts a lot of the fascist Gen Xers too. State got more red even when the rest of the country shifted blue in 2020.
September 15, 2026 at 1:17 PM
She's actually overperforming in that poll. The expectation is R+10 from previous polls and metrics. The state also only got more red, so I'm surprised to see any poll being that close.
September 15, 2026 at 1:15 PM
Yeah if NC is at 8.7 than a lot of those are a lot more blue than shown there, also generic ballot low for the polling but overperforming in Florida here. Results would be great but something ain't adding up here.
September 15, 2026 at 1:13 PM
It's also the state all the allfulent boomers go to retire and we know how they vote.
September 15, 2026 at 1:07 PM
That candidate is overperforming not underperforming in this poll, so that's not it lol.
September 15, 2026 at 1:04 PM
That's low on the generic ballot but an overperformance in Florida. What is gong on here 🤔

M4A has majority support among the entire population and includes nearly half of Republicans, yet they absolutely refuse to even consider it.

Omg wtf were those auto correct typos.

Sent camping this weekend and day diesel at $6.30, and I'm like "damn, glad I bought an EV." Incidently I saw a post earlier that scalpers in Russia are selling gas at the equalivlant of $33/gallon, so could be worse.

Sounds like my district which votes dem for president, senate, and governor every election, but still votes republican in the house because the local dem party is abysmal and can't run a good candidate if their lives depended on it.
September 14, 2026 at 2:08 PM
The establishment like to hold up black dems in South Carolina, as the monolithic voting bloc of black voters across the entire country, when the reality is most of them are a lot more progressive than they are in the deep south.
September 14, 2026 at 1:18 PM
The only reconning is the narrative that Hillary didn't entirely lose the election herself by dismissing the voters she needed and acting like she was just entitled to it. She lost independents and depressed the base by rejecting any notion of needed economic reform.
September 14, 2026 at 12:03 PM
Biden at least had the sense to promise a few concessions even if he delivered on none of them, where as Hillary and most of these other centrists make their campaign about refusing to even consider it. Delivering on nothing is a big part of why dems lost so badly in 24.
September 14, 2026 at 11:55 AM
Yeah see, I think he was the best the establishment could possibly muster after Buttigeig went nowhere. He was "flawed" in that he wasn't going to deliver what was needed, but it also didn't and doesn't get better than him (mental decline aside), from the neoliberal faction.
September 14, 2026 at 11:51 AM
I had pointed out this performance difference at the time, but unfortunately the prediction I also made at the time came true. No one paid attention that Biden almost lost a highly favored election, took no lessons, and sleep walked into another Trump win because he still won at the end of the day.
