I have to admit, I was giving up, depressed and lonely about the situation in this country. I just wanted to make some money, hide away and be left alone. But watching friends & family who never spoke up publicly about politics become vocal activists this last 2 weeks has reinvigorated my fight.

Had an ex-friend who pulled this argument. Hammer and sickle is nowhere near as bad as a swastika or other Nazi symbolism for a simple reason.
The hammer and sickle are not used as modern hate symbols. Even if their associated regimes had similar death counts, this fact will remain true.

2) a thing that is hurting people
