At 4pm today, the temperature in Lincoln hit 99°F, just 3 deg shy of the record high for the date of 102°F set in 2012. As has been the case all week, hottest readings today were along the Neb-Kansas border. Temperatures today in the 100s were common Kansas down thru Texas.

Yesterday's high, 95°F, was the first high in the 90s since Aug. 12 & only the 6th 90+ high this month (normal is 11 days). Lincoln's extended outlook daily highs in the 90s thru Sept. 6 & warmer than normal thru at least Sept.13. Not record heat, which is in the low 100s, but still uncomfortable.

Yesterday's high, 95°F, was the first high in the 90s since Aug. 12 & only the 6th 90+ high this month (normal is 11 days). Lincoln's extended outlook daily highs in the 90s thru Sept. 6 & warmer than normal thru at least Sept.13. Not record heat, which is in the low 100s, but still uncomfortable.
Seasonal temperatures continue this week with a forecast high today of 86°F, which is exactly normal for the date. A surge of late summer heat arrives this weekend with the return of highs in the 90s. Cooler than normal highs return but not until the end of next week.
