Since International Women’s Day, I’ve been reflecting on the remarkable women I’ve had the privilege to work alongside in my role as Cabinet Member.

Each one of them brings passion and commitment to improving the lives of children and adults across our city. I feel genuinely honoured to know them.

Honoured to support @passthesmile.bsky.social

Despite the cold, wind, hail and brief sunshine, the joy at unveiling Ben’s plaque was incredible.

Huge kudos to Sarah, Scott and the family, and thanks to Earlsdon Library and the @coventrycc.bsky.social who joined us.

Community at its best.

Honoured to join Mark Baillie, CEO of @finhamparkmat.bsky.social to open their new HQ on Torrington Ave.

A great partnership with @coventrycc.bsky.social.

We also remembered the late Headteacher of @finhampark2.bsky.social Russell Plester and his dedication in making this possible.

Young people with SEND have incredible strengths and potential. Hereward College’s Principal Paul Cook and his team truly bring this to life — from the music studio to hands‑on training like building AC units. A brilliant example of how inclusion benefits everyone.

Great to see two projects working hand‑in‑hand.

I joined Cllr Seaman and Cllr Bea Christopher at @thewavecov.bsky.social to see how the Reunification Project is linking with the @coventrycc.bsky.social Holiday Activity Food programme.

A brilliant example of joined‑up support for families.

One doesn’t need to speak the language to feel the emotion of an occasion.

I’m grateful to have attended yesterday evening's vigil at
Coventry Cathedral, marking 4 years since the war in Ukraine began.

The opening of the Spencer Park Community Café was full of warmth & community spirit.

Speeches from Pauline OBE DL & Bishop Sophie Jelley were funny, moving & captured the dedication of all the volunteers.

A real privilege to be there & the cakes were delicious! 😋

Delighted to speak at @warwickuni.bsky.social Women’s Summit.🌟
I shared my journey—from pushing past teachers' low expectations to studying computer science & building a career in s/w engineering.
Such experiences drive my commitment to our children’s education in our city.📚

It was an honour recording my life history with @hardishvirk.bsky.social.

Sharing my family’s story, from my great‑grandfather in Coventry during WWII supporting the war effort, to generations shaped by migration, reminded me how our histories are part of our city & our country we helped build.

Had a great time at @coventrycc.bsky.social Apprenticeship Roadshow for #NAW2026! Over 800 pupils met 25 employers—fantastic energy all day.

Enjoyed chatting with @rangeroveruk.bsky.social about graduate apprenticeships & working in industry & of the many roles in @westmidlandspolice.bsky.social

Today’s Local Power Plan announcement is the biggest investment in community-owned energy in British history.

Our members have fought for years to put power and profit in community hands. Now that work will shape the future of energy ownership in the UK.⚡️

Thankfully rain stayed off while I delivered letters from me, Cllrs Tucker & Kelly.

Always great when residents stop for a chat — never hesitate to say hello.

Then straight over to canvassing around Wainbody Ave North, hearing local issues directly on the doorstep.

Super Saturday on the campaign trail — Wyken ➜ Cheylesmore ➜ Earlsdon.

Great chats with residents while delivering our Coventry @teamlabouruk.bsky.social letter. including one 20‑minute conversation with a resident who stood barefoot on the pavement. A lovely hello to his daughter too.

Teachers, governors, parents have all been supportive of this work.
My thanks to all. 🙏🏽
Over the last year, our schools have been leading the way when it comes to phone free classrooms.

@kindysandhu.bsky.social Cabinet Member for Education and Skills recently spoke to @coventrylive.bsky.social about the work, highlighting how it was making a difference to young people's lives.

Lyng Hall School pupils led a moving Holocaust remembrance service at Holy Trinity Church - singing, sharing their own work & honouring survivors' testimonies.

Truly inspiring. Proud of our city's young people.

Today we remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, along with the millions of Roma, LGBTQ+ people, people targeted for their ethnicity, and those persecuted for their political beliefs. 🕯️
May we never forget—lest we allow such hatred to rise again.

Blown away by @passthesmile.bsky.social's incredible operation at the Treecycling weekend.

Watching the volunteers in action was a powerful reminder of just how strong our community spirit is where community effort, good organisation & genuine generosity all came together.

Thanks to residents who took time to speak to us today on the campaign trail in Dawlish Drive and Knoll Drive.

Will be raising issues of speeding and anti-social behaviour with police.

Yesterday I spoke at the Coventry Counts Dead Women Vigil about my own experiences of familial abuse. 💔
Speaking out matters—it may help another woman find strength.

We remembered 97 women killed last year by their partners.
