From what I remember, their profit projections were predicated on their clients all purchasing telecoms infrastructure separately, but nobody asked "uhh, are we really going to build fifteen digital switches for the same building to access 15 different service providers? That doesn't make sense"

Yes, FA costs $300k per year. This $180,000 covers the shortfall. FA+ is $60 per year and only 2,000 people need to have it to make up the other $120,000, and that's not including the shop where they sell merchandise as well as the owner's own cash.
