Thoughts of the Week Because Heated Rivalry commentary is never-ending, and people stay trying to read the worst intention into RR's commentary: Shane Hollander is not a reader. He reads his hockey books before bed, but he's not devouring books the way readers do. If you want reader-rep in the GC universe, read Tough Guy and meet Ryan Price — he's awesome. OCARINA OF TIME REMAKE!!! It's so pretty and it's coming out just after my birthday and I'm so excited. I'll also need to buy a Switch 2. I really, really, really want the Zelda-themed Switch 2 but I can't pre-order because I won't have money until October 30, sob.

Thoughts of the Week Was chatting with someone on Threads this week about how radically vulnerable Richard E. Grant has been in sharing his journey in grief since his wife passed away, and how inspired I feel by him to to embrace the contradictory nature of feelings: moments of joy in deepest grief, nostalgia in the embrace of new adventures, and be brave enough to to share (I'm working on it!) Football There's a lot of pageantry around football I find exhausting, nothing more so than deadline day. But! Watching matches with Portuguese commentary I have gotten better at differentiating words in rapidly-spoken Portuguese, and think I can maybe recognize three more words?!

Thoughts of the Week Football Adidas should not be allowed to design kits with black-and-white stripe design. It's a simple, classic look on kits that they've fucked up at both Juventus and Newcastle (that I'm aware of) and it's mystifying to me because usually they're the best football kit designers?! Except the year they put sails onto every team's shorts for some fuckin' reason. But also why do Liverpool's home tops look the background from a 1990s Sears family portrait. I didn't notice the manufacturer of Nottingham Forest's kits, but that blue away kit is awful.
