If the polls are right the referendum to hold a referendum will be emphatically "STAY". And nobody will pay a political price for having spent $130M and wasted a colossal amount of Albertans' time and energy. We won't be better off. We won't be building something better. What a waste. #abpoli

Canada needs to move in more than one direction at the same time
I have to admit surprise at the carefully constructed campaign to stop Canada developing stronger relations with Europe.

This noise nothing more than divisive hate-mongering.

At what point does the province become locked in a continuous cycle of referenda? Asking for a friend wondering when the optimal time is to sell the house and get the hell out! www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
Alberta separatists expect a win, regardless of numbers that say otherwise, poll suggests | CBC News
A political scientist and pollster say that mismatch of expectations has consequences for what comes next and Albertans shouldn’t expect this issue to be put to rest with this one vote.

@davidmoscrop.com Is there any way in hell Keystone XL gets built? By saying it's on the table who's carrot is it? Trump gets a deal? Canada possibly sells more to the USA? Is it a replay of the pipeline to the coast?

So what's the likelihood that after spending $130M of taxpayers money on a referendum that a resounding "NO" vote shuts up the separation bullshit? The UCP base fires Danni and we start the cycle all over again with a more radical leader? We have a never ending carousel of referendums? #ucp #abpoli

@carterab.bsky.social Has our political class basically run out of imagination? Has our population? The UCP is bereft, the NDP wants to seem "reasonable", federally the CPC is an echo chamber, Liberals are conservatives, and the NDP is irrelevant. Where is the inspiration? Where are the ideas?

@jeromyyyc.bsky.social at 9:30am I came across a scene on Stony Trail NB on the Bow River Bridge. 7, maybe 8 black pickup trucks with flashing red and blue lights. All unmarked! Boxing in a small white SUV. "Officers" in desert khaki tactical gear with tactical rifles were everywhere! Is this CPS?

The last Alberta Provincial Election cost just under $40M. The referendum could cost upwards of $130M! Why are the fiscal conservatives in this province not losing their minds? Let's have a provincial election. The UCP can run on the 10 questions that have been put on the ballot! #abpoli

Separatists want you to think the referendum is a cost-free way to pressure for the things Alberta wants.

But 8 in 10 Calgary Chamber members already feel the debate's negative effects, and half would be likely to leave if Alberta votes to START the separation process.
