My beautiful daughter was so brave and wore her life jacket in the cockpit under sail during our trip. It was funny seeing all the passing boats doing double takes.

Saw a pod of about 9-11 orcas this morning in Port Ludlow! They were about 20yds off the port side of our boat. Good send off as we make our way to Lopez Island.

Made it to Port Ludlow! Hunkering down in the little cove until the gale passes up north. Sweet little baby is doing great on her first sailing trip!

Exactly one year ago we took our first sail on our boat. After dealing with my health issues and my husband getting laid off, we said fuck it and gave up on ever trying to own property. We're slowly working towards full time sailing + citizen science, and I'm so happy to be making this happen.

And also this dog was just so freaking cute waiting for their human to be done on the boat.

So many baby seals at the marina right now. 😭😭 One seal gave birth just a few feet from our slip, and it was gross but also incredible.

I had a nightmare last night that my cat ran away because she was sick of having to take her eye medicine. She packed her stuff and put it in a cloth on the end of a stick. I was so happy to wake up to her sitting on my head and purring as per usual.

9 years ago this girl came home with us. She grabbed my bag as I walked by her kennel, and she's been my buddy ever since.

Living out some Nancy Drew in Danger on Deception Island vibes - except it was Blake Island. Can't believe I saw a painted Russian dolphin just swimming by. (You'll have to zoom to see it right in the middle.)

Being on anchor overnight makes me feel so happy
