Prepping for Weird Al next week.
1. "Canadian Idiot" holds up very well
2. 9yr old has probably never heard the original of 75% of the songs
3. He asked for "White and Nerdy" to be his playlist
4. I'm really close to getting the 14yr old to agree to family Hawaiian shirts

Whatever your music streaming platform - pick a song your parents loved and let the algorithm take you down memory lane. Spinning Wheel by Blood Sweat and Tears took me on one fantastic ride tonight.

The peak of the Persied meteor shower has been blocked due to clouds and rain yet again this year. I couldn't be happier.

Currently cozied up at home after soccer in the rain, with the heat on, watching the hydrometric data readings for the region. Things are high here but it really doesn’t look good for so much of BC. And I’m such a nerd and proud of it.

There isn't enough that can be said about the amazing history of space and Canada. Kudos to Roberta Bondar and Chris Hadfield on their contribution to the coverage of Jeremy Hansen's historic Artemis II mission on CBC.

I'm trying to decide which is more uncomfortable - sharing the T-Bar on skis with my 9 year or taking one on a snowboard.

The more I think of the elimination of daylight saving time for only part of BC, I really wonder WHO made the decision to not include those of us who observe daylight time in the mountain time zone and WHY they decided to exclude us? As someone directly impacted I'd really like answers.

Tonight's dinner topic: what are mid-term elections?

The 9 year old is focused on eating the most meatballs and folding his napkin into an airplane.

Had the CATSA crew at YVR laughing when I had two dragon fruit in my suitcase to bring home and their coworker flagged it for an extra check. "That's so obviously dragonfruit!!" Would love to know what the first guy was thinking they were.

Stranger Things trivia tonight was a blast. I had all the answers to the 80's song titles and artists and the teenager knew every quote by Murray.

I can't decide if I want to put my head in the sand or start to actively protest and be vocal about the state of the world. My mental health says #1, my ethics and morals say #2. Maybe more wine will help me decide.

Why yes, I did email my local radio station when the on-air personality used a term with a racist and derogatory etymology. Really hope the GM meant it when he said it was a "learning moment".

Mother Nature is AMAZING. But also scary as f*ck.

Started ADHD medication after struggling for a very long time. So happy to have found a medical professional who took me seriously and didn’t say I was just a stressed out mom and to take SSRIs. Now to work on getting off those if I don’t need them!

The white noise of a campfire, campers and nature is the absolutely best therapy out there.

First full day of summer and I used my seat warmer and heated steering wheel in the truck and the furnace is on in the house. Happy Spirit of the Rockies weekend!!

I have a child with a needle phobia that relies on IV treatments to keep her auto-immune disease under control. My options: travel to Vancouver every six weeks on my own dime and nothing else. The only in community option is a private clinic that can't meet her needs (though they really tried).

Learned the hard way that my medication makes me highly photosensitive. Spent the day gardening in shade of my house and being completely sunburnt after. Not mottled shade or an umbrella - A HOUSE.

Seattle, feeling the pinch from lack of Canadian tourism with border crossings down 50%, have started a tourism campaign where local restaurants/hotels take Canadian dollars at par this weekend for the annual Jays-Mariners series

Someone analyze the Carleton riding (by polling station?) to see if PP would’ve won based on the previous boundary vs current boundary. Just heard a neighbour saying it was done “on purpose” so he wouldn’t win his seat. I’d like to know how BS that is (or not). Share if it’s already out there!

I mixed up vibranium with adamantium tonight and got the biggest stare down from my 12 year old daughter. I am winning at parenting.
