I was honored to visit Our Lady Salam, the first Arabic-speaking Lutheran parish on Staten Island.

Its congregants hail from as close as Hylan Blvd to as far as Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, & Egypt — yet have planted roots in our city. Many carry the weight of war and genocide daily.

Could new bus shelter roofs help New Yorkers stay cool in extreme heat?

We're testing a few in Brownsville to find out: a green roof covered with native plants, and reflective roofs covered with low-cost, heat-resilient film.

A Philadelphia family just bought their first home with a $10,000 first-time homebuyer grant funded by a group of Quakers

It’s part of the congregation’s racial justice plan to redistribute wealth to Black residents in the Germantown area as a form of reparations

Being ripped out of my life by a virus left me lost and floating with Long Covid. Other people’s stories put words to what I couldn’t describe.

These authors saved my sanity and inspired me to share my own story to pay it forward. I hope I help at least one person feel less alone.

I don't like that LeBron partnership with Polymarket, at all. I didn't like Giannis partnering with Kalshi either. Matter of fact, I don't like athletes, past or present, partnering with gambling sites, period.

You should see these signs popping up all over NYC — including at the future site of Malcolm Shabazz Harlem Plaza, where 123 affordable homes are already under construction.

As Public Advocate Jumaane Williams said yesterday, “the original J/Z isn’t doing so well.”

That’s why we’re working with Governor Kathy Hochul — using congestion pricing funds to renovate Chambers Street and partnering with the MTA to tackle extreme heat in our subway stations.

Disability will happen to almost everyone.

Most people are only temporarily abled.

It’s not a moral failing.

It’s not a choice people make.

The human body is frail.

It only takes one illness, accident or stroke of bad luck to forever change your health.

My hefty fellas (ex. waist 34 and up): where y’all be getting your pants from?

Need some work pants: dress code is business casual. That retailer you-knee-kloh is not an option for me; I find their return policy atrocious.

Thank you in advance 🫶🏿

when bonnets come off, real-world setup stays the same. we’ve spent decades watching natural hair get labeled "unprofessional" in spaces that leech our culture.

professionalism goalposts shift at the dominant culture's whim. self-policing won't grant immunity from systemic bias.
