What are some game design pros and cons of various systems, like AD&D and Shadowdark etc.? I really like the idea of spending gold between adventures to mimic the swords and sandals style of Conan being chronically broke and needing to go adventuring, especially for an episodic campaign!

If you can corral another 2 players, I'd recommend getting your paws on Triumph and Tragedy by GMT, if you want a WWII board game itch scratched! I'm blown away by how good it is.
