A few years ago I wouldn't have to debunk this, but here goes:
#Lanterns does not "hate white people". By drawing attention to the disparity between why a white man might become fearless against why black men need to be fearless, the show is not taking a side in a race war.
I hate grifters.

#Lanterns Episode 3 was the best so far. I really recommend watching the podcast episode hosted by its writer and director, because there were a couple things about its depiction of John's parents forcing black excellence on him that went over my head. Never be afraid to educate yourselves, people!

This is great advice for writers, too. I've realized that I subconsciously put a filter on myself while writing, and it's because I know someone might eventually see it. Make weird stuff for yourself.
Art tip: don't share everything you draw. Draw things you never intend to show anyone. Your brain needs time to just exist in a state that's not about performing for strangers. This used to be the normal way to exist before social media poisoned us.

Growing up, I thought Kairi was the coolest Princess of them all: spunky like Belle, fights her own battles like Mulan, and playful like Snow White. Hayden Pantierre captured all of this, and also ensured that Kairi was the type of girl I'd eventually come out as. I'll miss her dearly.

Lanterns makes me want to rewatch Twin Peaks and start True Detective, I love the vibe. The fact this was co-written by Tom King already had me interested, but I honestly wasn't that hopeful about this show. I was wrong, this is great.
