It is now July 4, 2026, and thus officially the 250th anniversary of our wonderful Nation's adventure into the realm of independence, freedom, and democracy.

Nothing would be more appropriate than for it to happen today.

The odds are it won't happen today.

The Trump Slush Fund is even worse than expected: he and Todd Blanche know that this whole lawsuit was illegal, so they withdrew the case & the judge can’t rule on its legality!

Mind-boggling corruption. Trump and Blanche must be removed from office.

Just incredible. Any theoretical charges—there’s no indication there were any—would fall outside the scope of presidential immunity for official acts. Fascinating that Trump felt the need to pursue this. He seems to have found a way around the likely legal rule that a president can’t pardon himself.
And then there's this:

The settlement gets sweeter for Team Trump

In a newly-posted, one-page document, the Justice Dept details that it is now prohibited from pursuing tax claims against Trump or his family in the future

The amount of corruption that is happening is absolutely ridiculous. The Justice Department has agreed to permanently shield Trump, his family, and his businesses from IRS tax claims a last-minute addition to the slush-fund deal.
