and while it's not 1:1, with the mods in lazer being able to restore some manner of stable functionality you can always go back and impose those restrictions to train up your stats. if you make yourself at home in lazer even as a newbie I think you'll find it easy to stay motivated to play

you know what else? the skin editor is fire. building a skin specifically tailored to yourself hassle free while being able to mix and match legacy and modern assets is cool as hell.

it allows me to play outside of my comfort zone and by playing out of my comfort zone I am rapidly training a bunch of different skills, and it doesn't matter that it's inefficient because its FUN bro. it costs me 0 energy while you got people crashing out over 1-100 on a nightcore aim farm map

the fact that I can play osu like any other rhythm game where I can play higher difficulty songs for the fun of it even if I'm not gonna be able to get a super good score motivates me to come back and improve on that map and those skillsets and to try all sorts of different types of maps

to test an actual game I'd recommend trying some real 3D shit like tail concerto and for stress testing the hardest to run ones would probably be metal gear solid and vagrant story for having in-engine cutscenes instead of FMVs

its weird to think how ff7 was released 3 years into the psx's lifetime, i think with how basic some of the rendering in this game is that it feels like a launch title but it certainly wasn't. either way a lot of the game is 2D rendered backgrounds so it emulates smooth as hell
