Both Reps. Tony Gonzales and Eric Swalwell believed it was acceptable to sexually abuse staff and still run for and serve in elected office.
They clearly did not expect there would be any consequences for their actions.

Tonight, a strong, democratic woman came within just points of winning a district that Trump won by 22 points a year ago. While Aftyn didn’t win tonight, she and voters across Tennessee sent a strong message. Every state, every district is in play.
Tonight, we did something everyone counted out. We proved to a nation that states like Tennessee are still worth fighting for. The margin was close, and that can only be attributed to the thousands of volunteers who showed out. This is just the beginning.
