Yes, looks very cool and ambitious but somehow out of scope, e.g. I find the focus on the privacy bit somehow overkill, at least for our use cases.

For example I use my PDS as source for the microblogging I have on my personal website (link in my bio), and I publish blog posts as standard.site.document entries.

I'm also working on a new project based on IRC protocol, users login is going to be via ATproto (work in progress)

Absolutely, e.g. I'm trying to convince my contacts to drop Whatsapp in favour of Signal and it's tough... but worth fighting for!

My point though is that you can enjoy ATproto benefits even without using Bsky.app at all, imo it's something more transformative than "just another social network"

I don't know if it helps the discussion, I'm almost always frustrated when I see threads about some new cool feature in AT proto on, say, HN, and the discussion to soon gravitate towards Bluesky and its perceived shortcomings.

AT is so much more than Bsky.app but somehow I seldom see that emerging.

Personally the least interesting bit since I got into ATproto is Bluesky.

I mean, I like it and I use it, but the key features for me are 1) data ownership and 2) portable identity (login).

@rednafi.com another point for Pi

TL;DR: it seems to fit well both power users and non tech people alike

FYI @jimtrinca.bsky.social I'm playing GTA3 on my Switch and it reminded me of this (awesome) video of yours. It's currently not listed in your YT "The Trinca Perspective" playlist
